As mentioned previously, Blues Train is taking part in the British Blues Awards this year by nominating four songs in the Kevin Thorpe Award for Best Original UK Blues Song. I will be playing the songs in full on my show on April 8th but as of Sunday 1st, the artists involved are able to start plugging the vote themselves. There is an online form which you can visit to place your vote, which I will add here myself.
I believe the voting will be open for around four weeks but I will confirm this when I know for sure. The track with the most votes from this show will go forward to a national vote of all the blues show winning artists. You can vote in every show’s poll, see details here: http://britishbluesawards.com/#/kt-award/4549835277
In the meantime, I thought I would get things going by giving you links to the four artists website and a You Tube clip of each song [ in no particular order! ]
SIMON McBRIDE – DOWN TO THE WIRE [ CD: Since Then / Nine Lives live ]
DOVE AND BOWEEVIL – BOURBON STREET – [ CD: Getting Somewhere ]
NAVACROSS – DON’T SHOUT [ CD: Navacross ]
LIAM TARPEY BAND – KRYPTO BLUES [ CD: Warm Up My Bones ]
I hope that you support both these artists and all the others that are up for nomination. In fact, the decision was incredibly tough as it has been a great year in the blues world and several other acts could have been on this list. To anyone not here this time, please don’t be offended, I have loved so much music this year and it’s almost an impossible task to narrow down to four!
